Leo is a godlike creature—silent, all-seeing, patient. He will probably reveal himself to us in the near future as the Nelson family personal deity and point out the mistakes, foibles and basic screwups he has observed. He pretends to not like being taken from his cage, but enjoys the living room warmth in winter and coolness in summer. He has strong hind legs and sharp claws. He could probably beat Duffy up. They both understand this intuitively—or instinctively—and so there is peace in the household.
